Abstract

Purpose: This Study aimed to provide basic data that are useful in developing sexual violence prevent program for university student. Method: A total of 1049 students participated in the study by answering a questionnaire. The data collection was done between October 28 and November 23, 2002. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan test. Result: 1. 42.5 percent of the subjects was educated for sexual violence. 2. The mean score of knowledge related sexual violence showed significant differences in sex (t--61.76, P= .000), in experience of education(t=32.24, P= .000) and in parent¢¥s attitude toward sex(F=7.05, P= .001). 3. The type of attitude toward sexual violence showed significant differences in sex(x2=51.64, P= .000), in experience of education (x2=13.70, P= .003) and in parent¢¥s attitude toward sex(x2=:16.64, P= .011) Conclusions: According to the above results, realistic and appealing educational materials about sexual violence should be developed for university students. This information will provide useful data to promote a more systemic desirable educational program for the prevention of sexual violence education for university students.
